Cutting for a Cause
Hello,
My name is Oren Sendel. I am a 12 (almost 13) year-old boy living in Montreal. A few years ago I heard a story about a child who grew their hair long for the purpose of donating it to make wigs for people who need them due to unfortunate health circumstances. I thought this was such a good idea that I, too, decided to grow out and donate my hair.
Over the course of the 3 & 1/2 years it has taken me to grow my hair, I have thought of other ways I could help people who are faced with health challenges. One way I decided I could is to donate money to a cause close to my heart: helping people with Multiple Sclerosis. Many people struggle with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that affects people in multiple ways. I have seen my mother struggle with this disease, which is why I want to help others like her.....
As a child, I am quite limited with money. I got the idea to ask friends and family to sponsor me cutting my hair. And I will turn the proceeds over to the Montreal Neurological Hospital in the care of the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic. An account will be set up, and the funds will go towards making some dark days a little brighter for those who need it. The money can be used to pay for a taxi on a day when a patient is exhausted, or to buy a cane for someone who needs one. It can also be used to offset the cost of the medicines needed as they are very expensive. I trust that the hospital will know where the money is most needed.
This is where YOU come in. I am asking you to please sponsor my hair cut... even just a few dollars. All the money collected will go directly to the Montreal Neurological Hospital. I will in turn donate my hair to a non-profit organization that makes wigs for people in need.
Pleaes donate to the hospital using the link below.
